Yes, I'm still alive . Well, lately I got a hint about a series of good science fiction books that I'd like to forward. If you are looking for really good and exciting science fiction that has nothing to do with Star Trek, you might like the Ender series by Orson Scott Card. The first book I read of that series was 'Enders Game'. At the moment I read another book of that series which I love as well, so I guess you can start where you want, though I'd say you should start with 'Enders Game' as you will learn who Ender is and a lot about his life that you should know before reading the other books. If you have a suggestion about what to read, please hand in an article describing the book(s) for others. I'll just have a look at your article before I make it visible on the site.

Recently I've been told to read Trudi Canavan's "Black Magician Trilogy". When I started I just knew it's about magicians, so clearly fantasy stuff. Short after starting with the first book of the trilogy, "The Magicians Guild", I knew I wanted to finish the complete trilogy and got "The Novice" and "The High Lord" as well. The story is really enthralling. The story is about a girl living in the poorest part of the city of Imardin. Each year the magicians from the guild cast out the baggers and poor people out of the inner parts of the city. Sonea, the girl this story is about, is one of those cast out to the outer slums of the city. During the purge she has to discover that she, too, has magical potential. As the magicians realise that they start to look for her while she seeks help from her former friends... So if you love exciting fantasy stories, you should have a look at these books. I really recommend reading them!

I finished installing a new and a bit more flexible profile module for registered members. You may now send applications for the Bookclub Usergroup as well. Your applications will be accepted as soon as you have sent the club application formular as well
So if you'd like to know who Admin is you should go to this page. If someone is a member of the bookclub you will see this in the profile as well. Click on the Bookclub link and you can become a member as well. More user groups may follow.

You all should know by now that some of my hobbies just look weird to some people. So I guess you won't be wondering about me interested in Origami. Folding paper can be so relaxing and makes you forget about your problems really fast . On my research for the right material and some folding instructions I found some really interesting ones that you can find here (don't worry, the instructions are in English). On the right you will see a list of all instructions that site has and among them there are a Borg Cube, the Prometheus and a Bird of Prey. The instructions look quite complicated, but maybe you are a bit more advanced than me? I wish you a lot of fun with folding the models!!!

... for "Captain's Glory" (by William Shatner and Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens). The first release date I found last year said it would be released in June, 2005. Now the newest date says it's to be release on September, 8th this year. Books can be preordered from Amazon US, Amazon UK and Amazon.de and will of course be delivered on the day of release as usual.
Well, let's see if this one is to be delayed as well
