I finished installing a new and a bit more flexible profile module for registered members. You may now send applications for the Bookclub Usergroup as well. Your applications will be accepted as soon as you have sent the club application formular as well
So if you'd like to know who Admin is you should go to this page. If someone is a member of the bookclub you will see this in the profile as well. Click on the Bookclub link and you can become a member as well. More user groups may follow.

... for "Captain's Glory" (by William Shatner and Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens). The first release date I found last year said it would be released in June, 2005. Now the newest date says it's to be release on September, 8th this year. Books can be preordered from Amazon US, Amazon UK and Amazon.de and will of course be delivered on the day of release as usual.
Well, let's see if this one is to be delayed as well

Bookclub members might have realised there hasn't been a newsletter for June, yet. This is because I have a ton of work so that I simply can't do this alone again. So if you really want a newsletter please help out with interesting news about your favourite books etc. Maybe this is the time where every member (and everyone who thinks about joining us) should think about what the club should be like. At the moment the status is the following:
I, the Webmaster, try to keep this site up to date as much as possible. Additionally to that I did all the back issues completely alone, except of two or three articles with which DianaG helped out. There are forums that club members are allowed to use for a little chat, but as it seems noone uses them. So I ask myself "What do you want the club to be like?".

You might remember our last poll which ended at the beginning of this month. I asked all of you what crew the next Star Trek movie should be with. There were 60 votes on the poll so I think the results might be quite representative.
The graphic shows the results quite good. So most of you would like the next movie to be with the DS9 crew or the Enterprise crew followed by the Voyager crew. I guess this might as well be the ranking if I'd ask what your favourite series is. As to the question of having a completely new crew I can just see that 4 of those who voted don't seem to like the idea of doing another movie with one of the crews from the series. This might indeed be a very interesting project!
Thanks for everyone who took part in the poll! I hope you will as well vote on the current polls that you find on the left and the right side of the page.
Regarding a next Trek movie I can just say I heard rumors there is one in planning status, but I couldn't find it confirmed so far. So let's see what Paramount will do!

If you'd like to be up to date with our News articles, you should go and get a browser (or a plugin for yours), that can read RSS Newsfeeds. Firefox for example would be one of them. I got the extension "Sage" for Firefox and this works really good (just the RSS 0.91 Newsfeeds I can't get working).
All you need to do is enter one of the following addresses as "dynamical bookmark" to get our news fast and comfortably. Thunderbird should be able to read that as well. So far my little commercial for good and completely free software
But now the links for Atom, RSS 2 and RSS 0.91 (just the Englisch news, if you'd like to get just the German news replace newlang=eng by newlang=deu):
